"the key"


Radin hasn`t upload the pictures so i shall just make do without it first. Anyway, kakak, Ashik and abang`s friends lit the sparklers and sang me a birthday song at 12am sharp right there at Changi Village. Radin`s parents popped by too after the fleamarket and passed me a present. Headed to East Coast Park afterwhich where the two couples complained they waited too long fer me and Lan. And yea, till the mee they brought turned slimy. I am so sorry fer that.

Then came a hazelnut cake with candles without fire fer the wind by the beach was too strong. Followed by pretty cards and presents from the couples. Tell me who would ever do all that on ma birthday at two plus in the wee morning ? And Lan, he was just physically there. Because he was sleeping when i was busy unwrapping the presents. He must have been really tired, i understand.

And Sunday itself, he chose to work voluntarily when he knows he was supposed to be at a wedding function. I was there with ma family. And his family. He went to his friend`s family pit or something after work at Pasir Ris to eat. Honestly, i was a lil disappointed eventhough i know he was there at East Coast that morning to celebrate my twenty-first. I am already fine with the fact that he had to postpone ma gift since he is very tight right now and i jolly well understand that. I am not expecting any presents from him either. All i hoped for was a simple cheap dinner which everyone with initiative would do on their loved one`s birthday. But nevermind, he did text me at ten last night when he just reached home mentioning to me he was tired after he ended his work at five.

I don`t know why i sound so whiny when i am already so immuned to not celebrating and getting anything for my birthday since young. Sometimes, it pains alot when people don`t remember how much effort we have put in just to make them happy. I just felt like crying maself to sleep after reaching home from the function last evening. So i lied on bed and did just that.

And the last thing i would ever wanna hear from anyone at all, "So what did your boyfriend get you ?" be it fer ma birthday, valentine`s day, anniversaries or infact, throughout these five years. Because i always, always have difficulty answering that question.

Happy belated twenty-first to me...


To make me feel better, a secondary school mate is now on board a flight on the way here. He flew all the way from California just to be here fer ma birthday ( i`m sure ! ). Haha. He wants to meet me fer dinner tonight. Well, something to look forward to atleast.
